5 Myths About Round Tables

1. Guests integrate worse at round tables. I often hear this argument, but it’s not entirely true. Notice that the rectangular table setting gives the impression that everyone is dining together, but in reality, you can only talk to the people next to you and at most with four people sitting opposite. If you prefer tradition and want appetizers to be on the table, the round setting is much more advantageous. You can easily reach every delicacy, and guests have more freedom in handling utensils.
4. Our guests are traditionalists, so rectangular tables will be more appropriate for them. Polish guests are among the most demanding. They expect numerous attractions, surprises, and conveniences. Moreover, they pay attention to every, even the smallest detail. Rectangular tables are traditional, that’s true—they are used at every family gathering, meeting with friends, and most weddings. A round table will definitely be a change and will add uniqueness to your special day.
5. Decorations for round tables are more expensive. Decorations are a very important element of every wedding reception. They must be cohesive and thoughtful, and their cost depends mainly on the concept and theme. Sometimes I hear the statement that you can put fewer decorations on rectangular tables, so more money will be saved. Yes, you can, but is it worth it? Think about the purpose—why are you ordering flowers? Is it just because they “have” to be there, or do you really want to give your reception a unique arrangement, making it special and one of a kind?
